Track suits, running shoes, football boots, cricket gear, boxing shorts etc are among the large range of sportswear goods that may be offered by mail. The market is a large one, and the more all-purpose items like track suits can be successfully advertised in the national press, while the more specialist items, eg judo gear, mountaineering clothing, are best advertised in the specialist journals for enthusiasts.
Sportswear gives little handling or mailing difficulty to the dealer. The price/weight ratio is good.
Follow up with other items of sporting interest — sports equipment, books on sport, camping equipment etc.
As with many of the more popular areas of mail trading, if you can find a product with slightly unusual characteristics which can be written up and illustrated in order to bring out the product’s uniqueness and usefulness, you have a very good starting point for a mail order business.
